We recognise being pregnant can be one of the most exciting times for a woman, but also very overwhelming especially for first time mums. So many things to consider in just 9 months. The good news for pregnant women is that much can be done to support her as she prepares for childbirth.

Supporting our female patients, whom are preparing to fall pregnant can be grouped into 3 main areas:

  1. Preconception care
  2. Peri-natal care
  3. Post-natal care

Chiropractic treatment is generally considered safe but occasionally it may cause adverse reactions in some people. Chiropractic care during pregnancy may provide benefits for women who are pregnant. Having regular care while pregnant may proveshutterstock_83181721 to relieve the added stress on your spine that comes along with the weight-gain. It may also help prevent and  alleviate conditions such as sciatica, the inflammation of the sciatic nerve that runs from your lower back down through your legs and to your feet. It’s also important to maintain pelvic balance, which can be thrown off as your belly grows and your posture changes.

Our practitioners use non-manipulative techniques when working with pregnant women, which means ‘no cracking’. Minimal force is used in treating our ladies, this,  in combination with ongoing education, help to  support a pregnant women to full term, together with their chosen Obstetrician or Midwife.
