Nutrition

Our practitioners at Essential Health Chiropractic are trained in nutritional based medicine and only use products that are meticulously designed under the strict GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) guidelines.  These will be one of the many valuable components assisting you to improve your health to optimal levels.

In our office, we only use high grade vitamins which may be different to what you may find in a chemist or supermarket. As a consumer, you don’t always know what you are buying. We hope to dispell that by providing you information so that you are better informed as to what you are giving yourself and your family.

The history of vitamins

There is a huge difference in the efficacy of supplements that are made of wholefoods, versus supplements that are produced in a lab. Unfortunately, most of the supplements that are commercially available are synthetic.

Most vitamins cannot be made by the body. They must be taken in as food. The best sources then are obviously wholefoods, rich in vitamins. Because of soil depletion, mineral depletion, pesticides, air pollution, and erosion, it is common knowledge that foods grown in Australian soil today have only a fraction of the nutrient value of 50 years ago; that means a fraction of the vitamins and minerals necessary for normal human cell function. Dr. Royal Lee described the average diet as the cultivation and production of “devitalised foods.”   Dr. Weston Price describes these empty products as the “foods of commerce.” Think it has got better or worse since their time? Thus the necessity for supplementation.

Vitamins and minerals are not functionally separable. They make each other work. Example: vitamin D is necessary for the body to absorb calcium, copper is necessary for vitamin C activity, and so on. Mineral deficiencies can cause vitamin deficiencies, and vice versa.

Ever wondered why these high potency “vitamin B” pills make your urine extremely yellow? Because your body recognises them as foreign and tries to get rid of them as quickly as possible!
