Dr. Gerald Vargas – Chiropractor

Dr. Gerald, the principal and founding Chiropractor at Essential Health Chiropractic brings his knowledge and passion for functional and integrative Chiropractic care to assist individuals to function at their very best. His motivation and drive to further Chiropractic and natural medicine came from his own health challenges early in life. At 16 years of age, he was diagnosed with a severe inflammatory disorder of the bowel, called Crohn’s disease.

This spurred his own search for solutions to regain his health, which he found through Chiropractic. His passion for working with children and patients with ‘challenging health issues‘ inspires him to continue to do what he does.

Dr. Gerald studied at Sydney University where he obtained his Bachelor of Medical Science Degree. He then went on to receive his Masters of Chiropractic from Macquarie University graduating in 1998.

Following his Chiropractic studies, he then continued his education with training in Acupuncture and Biomesotherapy. In 2003, he travelled to the U.S. to undergo further studies and examination to receive certification in Neuro-Emotional Technique (NET).

During 2006,  he was awarded Advanced Certification in Sacro-Occipital Technic (SOT). He also became certified in the Webster’s Technique, which is a technique which may be helpful for pregnant women throughout pregnancy.

In 2008, Dr. Gerald was awarded by the board of SOTO-Australasia the title of “Certified Craniopath” which is a rare and distinguished honour.

He currently serves on the board of examiners for SOTO-Australasia and is a past-President for the organisation. He is on the teaching committee as a “Primary Educator” for SOTO-Australasia, teaching SOT to Chiropractors both locally and internationally. Gerald is also a regular speaker at SORSI (Sacro-Occipital Research Symposium International) in the USA at their annual international conference. He is also a regular examiner at the International Certification examinations in San Diego for Neuro-emotional Technique (NET)

Dr. Alyx Grabasch – Chiropractor

Dr Alyx earned a double degree in Bachelor of Health Science and Master of Clinical Chiropractic degree at RMIT University, Melbourne. She has achieved academic excellence by graduating with distinction as one of the “top students” in her class. Alyx is originally from the country town of Bendigo, Victoria.

Dr. Alyx has a long association with Chiropractic and was first adjusted very early in life, by her aunt, whom is also a chiropractor. Dr Alyx developed a scoliotic curve heading into adolescence which lead to some severe ramifications for her. Dr Alyx found relief in Chiropractic care.

This blessing would later prove to be her source of inspiration to help others.

Dr Alyx has gained her basic training in Sacro-occipital Technique (SOT) and has completed extra studies in NET (Neuro-emotional Technique), A.K (Applied Kinesiology) and Activator Methods.

Dr Alyx keeps abreast of the latest research and development in Chiropractic, healthcare and nutrition by attending numerous post-graduate seminars throughout the year.

Her commitment to improving and positively shaping the lives of those around her sparked her involvement with two international Chiropractic missions to Cambodia and the Philippines. She served poverty-stricken communities filled with children and families, overcoming cultural and language barriers, to bring Chiropractic care to those who would normally be without . She was grateful to be involved with these community projects, giving her an opportunity to witness first-hand the benefit of providing such care.

Dr Alyx feels blessed and excited to work with such a highly dedicated and professional team who are focussed on improving the lives of every person who visits the centre. Dr Alyx is committed to provide the very best care that she can in a loving, professional and dedicated manner. Dr Terri Soper – Chiropractor

Dr. Terri studied at Macquarie University where she was awarded a Bachelor of Chiropractic Science in 2008 and obtained a Master of Chiropractic in 2010. Following graduation, Dr. Terri was interested to explore Chiropractic as a holistic profession; incorporating the physical, emotional, chemical & nutritional aspects of health.  This decision resulted in her furthering her professional education in Sacro-Occipital Technic (SOT), Neuro-Emotional Technique (NET), Life Coaching, Timeline Therapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programing (NLP).

From a young age, Dr. Terri was curious and fascinated with human physiology. In particular, the human body and the way it appeared to function effortlessly in an balanced environment.

Dr Terri has always had a strong desire to be part of a profession that positively contributes to the health and wellbeing of people. Being a mum of two infants, Dr. Terri is very passionate about Family Health and Wellness.

Dr Timay Ozkose – Chiropractor

Dr Timay graduated from Macquarie University with a Bachelors of Chiropractic Science and a Masters of Chiropractic. Timay will be furthering his education with Neuro-Emotional Technique (NET) and Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT).

Back in 2011, Timay was attending UTS as an Engineer and working part time as a bartender/waitier when he slipped & fell on a wet surface. After 8 months of constant pain and medication, difficulty sitting down & moving around, a family friend of Timay’s; who was an intern of Chiropractic at the time; offered to treat him. After feeling immediate relief, Timay decided that this is what he is meant to be doing, changed his University major as soon as he was able to.

The power of hands to change a person’s outlook on the future is what Timay wants to provide to others. “I’ve seen many injuries in the labouring area such as low back pain, headaches, wrists, hands and feet. The effect it can have to their lives can be detrimental be it money, or time that is lost. The idea that you could help a person of any age, function better, and help them have a better outlook on the future is what inspired me to be a chiropractor.”

“The ability for me to put myself in someone else’s shoes and understand their pain, helps me do what’s best for you and makes me work even harder to bring the best of what we have as chiropractors to the table. To help change someone’s life for the better is one of life’s greatest gifts”.

“There are many chiropractic practices in Australia but what made me want to be a part of the Essential health team was their commitment and professional attitude towards helping people. Having seen other practices and working in another practice for a short time. I’ve never seen such a high level of consistent  effort the entire team shows in addressing healthcare to all ages.”
